How to Decide

Match the laptop to your heaviest regular task, then check memory, storage and ports. Do not pay for performance you will not use, and remember that thin and light usually means fewer ports and less cooling. Compare battery claims with independent reviews.

Getting the Most From It

  • Install all system updates first.
  • Remove trial software you do not need.
  • Set up backups.
  • Adjust power settings for battery life or performance.

How to Judge It in the First Two Weeks

We build this page from the Amazon listing and manufacturer information, not hands-on testing, so your own trial is the most useful check. Use the Lenovo 500e Yoga Chromebook Gen 4 in the situations you care about for at least a week, and keep the packaging until you are sure. If several things bother you, return it while the return window is open. A good return policy is worth more than any specification.

Price and Value

The Lenovo 500e Yoga Chromebook Gen 4 showed at about $470 on Amazon.com when we checked. Prices on Amazon change often, and the buy button on this page does not show a price, so check the current figure on the product page. To judge value, compare it against two alternatives in the same price range and weigh the features you will actually use against the ones that merely look good on a listing.
